Built by one person.
Proven on a real crew first.
Stranex was founded by Owen Spain in Charlotte, North Carolina. One founder, one product: the business OS for service crews — built first for pressure washing, run live on a working crew before it was ever sold.
One founder.
Zero runaround.
I started Stranex because I kept watching service crews — pressure washers, lawn care guys, HVAC techs — juggle six different apps: a CRM, a quoting tool, an invoicing app, a scheduler, an answering service, a payment processor. And they still missed a quarter of their calls, because the only person who could answer was up a ladder, behind a mower, or under a house.
So I built the one system. Stranex OS answers every call 24/7, quotes standard residential jobs from your own price rules, books them — then runs the rest of your business: customers, quotes, invoices, schedule, payments. One login, one flat price. It's your front office, so you never have to hire one.
It's software you subscribe to, with white-glove setup — I build your quote engine and train the AI on your prices, and you're live in about a week. You don't configure anything. And it's me — Owen Spain — not a team of 50: one founder, one point of contact, zero runaround.
I built it first for pressure washing and proved it on a real crew before selling it to anyone. Andrew Matheny's 704 Pressure Washing, here in Charlotte, grew leads +340% in his first 90 days. He was my first client and a friend — a business I couldn't afford to let down. Today the same OS runs for any crew that books jobs by phone.
The person behind the systems
Owen's been building since before he could drive. At 12, he launched his first real business — CustomGamingRigs — assembling custom PCs and running a fully functioning e-commerce site to sell them. That early obsession with building things that actually work never went away.
A student at Appalachian State University, Owen splits his time between coursework and shipping production software for real customers. The proving ground was his friend Andrew Matheny's company, 704 Pressure Washing in Charlotte — Owen built the AI front desk and the OS behind it on Andrew's real customer calls, and Andrew's leads grew +340% in his first 90 days. Everything Stranex sells today ran live on that crew first.
Owen writes every line of code himself and ships fast. He's an engineer at heart — whether it's wiring an AI quote engine to a crew's real price sheet or building something with his hands. Off the clock, you'll find him on a tennis court or tearing apart his next side project.
He founded Stranex with a simple belief: a one-truck crew deserves the same front office a franchise has — without hiring for it, and without paying for six different tools. The gap shouldn't exist — and he's closing it.
Our principles
Accountability first
We stay engaged until results are in. Not just delivered. We ship, we measure, we optimize. That's the deal.
Move fast, build right
Speed is a competitive advantage. We don't hide in discovery. We prototype, test, and ship in weeks — not months.
Revenue over vanity
We only care about metrics that move your business forward. Traffic is worthless without conversion. Followers don't pay bills.
One named customer. One real number.
"Stranex turned our leaky funnel into a 340% lead machine in 90 days. Genuinely the best investment we made all year."
Andrew was Owen's first client and a friend — that's exactly why he's the proof. Owen ran Stranex on a real crew he couldn't let down before selling it to anyone. Read the full case study →
